Summer has finally arrived...hopefully it will stay!

It seemed like spring took so long to get here this year, I just the wonder 80+ degree weather will stay, however according to weather.com it will be in the 50's for the next 10 days. I guess I will take that over the 30 degree weather we have been having and frost in the mornings. With the nice weather I was able to get a few things done out side, I found some solar lights at Costco, and because the backyard does not have any lighting, it turned out to be a great solution. They are actually pretty bright and work well help locate the dogs at night when they are out. I have a list of a few things I want to do out side this summer, its much shorter than the indoor list, so hopefully it will all get done in the next few weeks. First I want to make some window boxes to put under the two bedroom windows along the front of the house, I think it will make them look less awarded being so narrow (got to love that 50's/60's styling), next I want to add a little flower bed around the light post, the post it self is kinda dated but I think a nice flowering climbing bush will be a great update. The last think is just a number of pots to put around the garage and the front porch.

It was also time to remove the winter wreath off the front door. I had seen these really great moss letters in the Pottery Barn catalog. They were $79.00 each and after shipping and taxes it would of been over $100.00. I thought they would be a great spring/summer addition to the front door. So I decided to try my hand at making my own, I went over to JoAnn's and for about 30 for all the supplies I made my own. After some spray glue and a roll of moss I feel that I did a good job, and it adds a nice touch to the front door.
