Curb Appeal Updates

House 2012
I've clearly been watching too much HGTV and DIY Network as I've been on a curb appeal kick.  With Brian graduating we are thinking of upgrading, and I've been doing some research on curb appeal, over half of buyers will decided in 6 seconds if they are going to buy your house or not before they even walk in the door.  Here is last years picture, I'd been so busy inside not much got done on the outside.  I added a flower bed around the lamp post, but the front still seemed kinda blah, so I chose my favorite accent color and went to town.  I really just love the color black, its also my favorite color to wear (I should take a picture of my closet but its just a sea of black).  I started with the front door, and I just loved it, so I moved on to the garage door and just loved that too, so I then spray painted the pots next to the garage and made two flower boxes for under the windows and painted them black too. (picture of them to come later- not yet installed).  Then I decided the garage side of the house did not have enough dimension, so the first thing that came to mind was a trellis.  It was super easy and allowed me to use my nail gun multiple times.  I just bought 2 stock pieces of 4 x 2 x 10 for the top supports, then built the brackets out of the same wood.  Then I actually used about 4 pieces of furring for the lattice pieces, which turned out well as they were only .82 cents a piece.  I would say all lumber and spray paint it only cost about $30.00.  I build some pretty awesome flower boxes for under the front windows but still have to install them, so I'll make sure and post them.
