Making Old Towels Smell Fresh Again

There is nothing worse than getting our of a relaxing shower and your towel smells like mildew.  Well, our towels were beginning to smell again.  I'm not surprised as by the end of the week the towels usually look like this:

Now I'm sure it would help to hang the towels up to dry, but lets be honest 9 times our of 10 they end up on the floor.

Don't fear, there is a simple fix.  I was not sure if this would work at first but I've done it in the past and after a few hours fresh towels are in store.

Load all of the towels into the washing machine and turn the water onto Hot.  Run the cycle with no detergent or fabric softener, just 1 cup white vinegar.  If the smell is extra bad, it does not hurt to let the towels soak for an extra half hour of so.

Once that load is done, rewash the towel on Hot again with 1 cup Baking Soda.  Once that load is done then transfer the towels to the dryer right away and dry with out a dryer sheet.

Then enjoy the fresh smell of clean towels!
